Today in Pre-Production we wrote a location report and explained the reasons for why we chose that location, some of the reasons were:
- Low noise levels.
- Hardly any traffic.
- Full access to the road and path.
- Has the right atmosphere for the style of the ad.

Pre Production
Today in Pre-Production we looked at different scenarios about health and safety, and was given many examples of what is acceptable.
We then filled out a risk assessment form, to find out what we needed to do in order to make our Viral Advert safe and legal, the two main things we have to worry about are high speed traffic, because we will be filming close to a public road, the second thing is the weather, as we live in England the weather is always horrible, so we have to prepare for the worst.
Other things include, watching out for pedestrians and unsafe obstacles.

Pre Production
Wednesday 21st November 2007
Today in Pre-Production we identified all the equipment needed for the production of our Viral advert, this included a camara, tripod, video editing studio ect. then we found out how much all this equipment would cost to rent. I decided to only rent the equipment for 1 day to keep the price low and because we dont need that much time to make the advert. I added up all the prices and found the total, then printed off my results.

Pre Production
Wednesday 14th November.
Today in Pre-Production we learned to use a PD150, we took our camera's and went around collage recording, the task was to record our self walking, we recorded several different sequences. From our experience with these cameras i learned allot of different types of shots including; long shot, close up, mid range shots and full body shots, i also learned how to set up and operate the PD150 as well as the tripod.
Our sequence consisted of the two of us doing a action like video, we did this to spice up the boring idea of recording a simple walk. We tried to be as creative as possible with our few ideas.
In the end it looked pretty stupid, but was allot of fun, unfortunately since we had no one to control the camera, it was alittle out of the frame, but it we get a chance we will rerecord this.

Pre Production
Wednesday Nov 7th:
Today we discussed different age certificates e.g. U, PG, 12, 15, 18 etc, we then had to find out which was best suited for our Viral advert. so we used the Internet to research, and find out which suited our advert best, we found out that 12 would best fit our needs.
Our add will not have allot of violence but may have some of sort, it will not have hardly any gore but may be slightly graphic, that's the reason's for choosing the age 12 certificate.

The Importance Of Contingency Planning
Contingency planning is extreamly important when it comes to videos and movies because a contingency plan is basicly a backup plan or a plan B, so if the main idea of the project has failed then thats when this comes into play, theres many differnt ways this can happen for example they had no choice but to use the contingency plan on the blockbuster film "Lord Of The Rings", as seen in the extras and bonus footage of the DVD, they go into a fair amount of detail and discribe what they had to do when it started raining and they had to use a hotel, to continue filming.
Some of the examples of Contingency Planning that we discussed today would be things like if actors were late or did not show up, or if like in Lord Of The Rings, the weather was not very good, so in cases like that we would have to move inside or shoot a scene with rain, things like if actors get hurt, in that case we would have to have a Medical Kit ready and there must be contracts in place so we dont end up getting sued, there could also be problems with the props or other equipment, and in that case they would have to be fixed, backed up, or done a differnt way alltogether such as doing it digitaly. they are just a few of the many reasons why contingency planning is so important.

Pre Production
Wednesday September 26th 2007
Today in Pre Production we discussed and generated new ideas and concepts for Viral Adverts, the first idea we came up with was basically set at the home of the player, while the player was sat in his room playing on a PS2 console game, when he suddenly feel a pain in his gut, he has to go to the toilet, but doesn't want to stop playing the game, so he attempts to drag his PS2 and TV down the stair and into the bathroom, when he Finlay gets there he finds that his friend is on the toilet with a "PSP" (PlayStation portable) then the "PSP" logo comes on the screen.
The second idea was pretty much about 3 people representing a PS3, Wii and a Xbox 360, they are all fighting over who is better etc in the end a PC comes in a points out all the consoles flaws, proving that the PC is the ultimate console.
The last idea we had was, 2 guys in tuned up cars pull up to the traffic lights, look at each other and decide to play there music, each of them is trying to out play the other in terms of volume, while this is taking place a man walks across the road with a Ipod looks and the 2 drivers and at that moment the cars speaker systems spark out and the guy with the ipod laughs and walks away, the Ipod logo is shown.
We thought up these ideas with he thought that we don't have many materials to make these, so we kept them simple and do-able.
